Attendance Policy
The School must know when a student is absent and why the student is absent.
For students who will be absent, late or need to be excused during the day, parents are asked to Please Contact the School in one of the following ways:
1. A phone call to 613-253-4700 prior to 8:20 a.m. if possible.
Before
and After School hours a message can be left on the school voice mail.
2.
If a student is late (arriving after 9:15 a.m.) a note, from a parent/guardian,
brought to the main office explaining the reason for being late is acceptable.
An admit slip will be given to the student so that he/she may
then proceed to class.
3.
If a student needs to be excused from class during the day for some
reason, then a note, from a parent/guardian, brought to the main office
before 9:00 a.m. is acceptable.
4.
If a student becomes ill during the day, they should report to the main
office where a phone call can be made to notify the parent/guardian.
If a student is marked absent or late, and contact
has not been received from a parent or guardian, then a phone call will
be made to all listed numbers held by the office, to verify if a student
is excused.
The above points, enable both the parents/guardian and the school to stay
in communication, with respect to this important element of the learning
process and the safety of our students.
